מגמת
המחול של תיכון הרצוג, מאפשרת לתלמידים שמחול הוא תחביבם, לשלב לימודי מחול
מקצועיים,
בהיקף של 5 יח"ל, עם לימודים עיוניים רגילים.המקצועות
הנלמדים במגמה משלבים לימודים מעשיים עם לימודים עיוניים וכוללים: בלט
קלאסי, מחול מודרני, לימודי כוריאוגרפיה, תולדות המחול, מוסיקה ואנטומיה.בנוסף
על הלימודים המשולבים במערכת, מגיעים מידי שנה, כוריאוגרפים שונים ללמד מיצירותיהם
המקוריות או לשחזר יצירות קיימות. בשיטה
זו מתנסות התלמידות בסגנונות שונים ובעבודה עם יוצרים מגוונים. במהלך
השנים נלמדו יצירותיהם של: אוהד נהרין, עידו תדמור, יורם כרמי, ענבל פינטו, רמי
באר, אמיר קולבן, אלווין איילי, ג'ורג' בלנשין, ברק מרשל, פינה באוש, מץ אק ועוד.הכניסה
למגמה מחייבת עמידה בבחינות כניסה.למגמה
מתקבלות בנות בעלות ניסיון בתחום הריקוד או בנות המתגלות בבחינות כבעלות פוטנציאל וכישרון.פעילויות
המגמה הינן מגוונות, משתנות ומתעדכנות מידי שנה. תלמידות
המגמה יוצאות לצפות בכ- 5 הופעות מחול של להקות נבחרות מן הארץ ומחו"ל, כחלק
מהעשרה שהמגמה מעניקה.בנות
המגמה משקיעות שעות רבות בשיפור ובאימון יכולותיהן הריקודיות והיצירתיות. הן
מחונכות להתמדה, לדיוק, ללקיחת אחריות, לעבודה בקבוצה ואכן הן נחשבות בבית ספר
"הרצוג" לנבחרת, לבנות ייחודיות העוסקות בתחום האמנות בצורה אינטנסיבית
ומקצועית, ומצליחות על אף עיסוקן זה,
